Kurt Tucholsky (1890–1935) was an influential German writer, journalist, and satirist. He shaped the political literature of the Weimar Republic and spoke out clearly for democracy, peace, and social reforms. His sharp texts and essays criticized war, nationalism, and social injustice. Tucholsky used various pseudonyms and published in major newspapers and magazines. Due to his political stance, he was persecuted by the Nazis, leading to his emigration and ultimately his suicide.
